Marshfield Youth Basketball was formed in 1975 as a town wide basketball program open to all school age boys and girls. The program offers both recreational and competitive basketball leagues. Our focus is on learning good sportsmanship, team play and, respect for others, while developing fundamental skills, and understanding the rules of the game.
The program is run completely by volunteers with the goal of providing a safe and fun youth sports experience for the children in Marshfield.
In 2013/2014, the MYB Town Recreational Program has over 810 participants playing on a total of 82 teams. Our Travel Team programs combined have over 320 participants on 29 different teams.
Thanks to the continued support of the community and the help of our many volunteers.

Message from the President of Marshfield Youth Basketball - Bob Ahearn
As I start my third year as President of Marshfield Youth Basketball, I wanted to thank all of the current board members and prior board members for the success of our basketball program. It takes many hours of hard work and dedication to oversee the entire program from travel teams, recreation leagues and instructional clinics.
This year we will again have over 1,000 players registered to play basketball in the Town of Marshfield. Our goal is to develop these children into solid basketball players by teaching them the fundamentals of the game along with sportsmanship, while making sure they are having fun.
I am excited this year to announce some new changes to our travel basketball program. We have purchased new uniforms for all of our travel teams this year. Also, we are emphasizing the need for travel players to play recreation basketball on Saturdays in addition to travel basketball. We are going to make the recreation leagues competitive and keep score and standings.
We have also, for the first time, partnered with Dick’s Sporting Goods in Hanover and they had a Marshfield Youth Basketball Appreciation Day in October which allowed our parents to make purchases at a discount that day.
We have a very interactive and informational website www.marshfieldyouthbasketball.com. Please check it out from time to time as we constantly upload photos and other new items on our teams.
Good luck to all of our travel teams this year as you compete against other cities and towns throughout the South Shore. I am confident that all players, coaches and parents will act as proud representatives of the Town of Marshfield.
