| Boys & Girls Town Recreation Leagues |
| The Marshfield recreational program is open to all girls and boys in grades one through twelve and meets on Saturdays. The program is broken up into eight separate divisions as follows: |
| Boys 1st and 2nd grade 3rd and 4th grade 5th and 6th grade Senior boys |
| Girls 1st and 2nd grade 3rd and 4th grade 5th and 6th grade Senior girls |
| The leagues are "non-competitive", so each player receives equal playing time. The main objectives are having fun, getting exercise, and learning some basketball skills. The games are held on Saturdays at various gyms in Marshfield and the program runs from December through March. Each team has approximately 10-12 players and is coached by parent volunteers. The games are refereed by paid, high school student referees. The cost to participate is $65.00 per player with a maximum of $160.00 per family. A $20.00 late fee is required for applications received after November 1st. The family disount is only available until November 1st . More detailed registration and sign up information can be found by going to the Rec. League Registration section of this site MYB provides insurance coverage for all players. There are NO TRYOUTS for the Rec League, everyone makes the team, however, late registrants will be put on a waiting list. Players registering late will be taken off the waiting list and placed on a team as space permits on a first-come first-served basis. In the spring, current players are ranked on various skills and this data along with a player's size and experience are used to help make the teams as even as possible. The month of December is used for practice, the games start the first week in January, after the holiday vacation. There are games played every Saturday morning from January through March, with the exception of the school vacation week in February. Cancellation of games due to inclement weather will be posted on the Home/News page of this website, on the MYB phone line and broadcast by WATD. |

| Demonstrate good sportsmanship whether you win or loose. Listen to your coaches and the referees. Work for the good of the TEAM. Accept decisions of the officials respectfully. |

| Your Support |
| Every year we have a new group of players sign up for Marshfield Youth Basketball at all different levels. Each year, the numbers grow. We are always in need of coaches and thrilled to see new faces. This includes parents, older siblings, previous high school and college players. If you feel you lack knowledge about the game, or are uncomfortable about coaching alone, you can assist another coach. You are guaranteed to have a great time with the kids when you volunteer to coach.
